Twenty Questions For Gloria by Martyn Bedford

How did I get this? It was sent to me by the absolutley adorable people over at Walker for review. Many thanks ♥

Synopsis:

At 15, Gloria longs for adventure, something beyond her ordinary suburban life. When a mysterious new boy strolls into school, bent on breaking all the rules, Gloria is ready to fall under his spell.
Uman is funny, confident, and smart. He does what he wants without a care for what anyone thinks. The only people for him, he says, are the mad ones, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing but burn, burn, burn.
He is everything Gloria wants to be. He can whisk her away and show her a more daring, more exciting life in which the only limits are the boundaries of her own boldness. But is not all he seems. And by the time she learns the truth about him, she’s a long way from home . . . and the whole country wants to know: Where’s Gloria?

Review:

This was such a heart-pounding, edge of my seat, tantalising thriller. Before I started the book, I was in a horrifyingly dull reading slump and hadn’t read a full book in over a month, you know with mock exams and all. This broke me out of it! I was begging to see what happened next, it physically pained me to put it down.

The writing was tense and erratically paced only adding to the buildups and cliffhangers. I loved how innocent it was, proving that nothing bad had happened. Sorry, spoilers.

The characters were amazing, especially Uman. Bedford exquisitely developed Uman’s character, making him from a cocky, arrogant boy into a vulnerable, scarred man.

I feel like there’s to much to say about this book and I can’t really gather my thoughts. Except this is such an amazing book and you’ll love it, regardless.

I give this book 5/5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks for reading!
